Conference on Programming
UkrPROG'2008

Following successful series the first four International Scientific and Practical Conference on Programming (in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2006) next conference is announced to be held in Kiev, Ukraine, at Cybernetics Centre of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NASU). The conference of UkrPROG'2008 is planned on May 27-29, 2008 at the same venue and is organized by NASU in cooperation with Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Cybernetic Centre of NASU, and National University of Technology of Ukraine "Kiev Polytechnic Institute". Basic organizations for conference promotion are Institute of Software Systems of NASU and Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics of NASU.
The main purpose of the conference is to provide a forum for discussion of the most important achievement in both science and practice of programming, software engineering and applications and to extend interaction of academia and practitioners in this area of a science and technology. The main audience and participants at the UkrPROG'2008 are expected researchers from academic departments and laboratories and industrial organisations of Ukraine and other countries of the nearest European region.
The program of a conference is expected to include:
- invited talks and reports of the leading scientists and representatives of software industry
- section (oral or poster) papers on topics of the conference,
- tutorials on advanced techniques in programming and software engineering,
- panel discussion on modern directions of R & D of software systems
- exhibition of manufacturers and researchers of the software of Ukraine.
Official languages at the conference are Ukrainian, Russian and English. Proceedings of the conference will be published in Ukraine and will be available at the conference.

- applied programming facilities and software
- man-machine effective interaction

CONTRIBUTIONS
There will be invited and regular papers at the conference. The latter can be of oral or poster presentation. Posters are provided with a poster place of A0 format. In all cases proceedings will include full text of accepted papers in one of official languages. All speakers will have a possibility also to show their software products and demonstration on computer. Authors are invited to inform on their requirements and other participation information with reply card (see below).
SUBMISSIONS
Submissions should be made both by mail and electronically at conference addresses (see below). Authors are invited to submit before Dec. 31, 2007, 2 copies of a paper by mail and a electronic version of the paper by e-mail in following format:
- language of submission is of three of official languages
- text of submitted paper is of no more than 25000 symbols (approximately 10 pages including drawings and tables), should be prepared in MS Word (not less than 6.0) in Times New Roman fonts of size 12 and signed by authors
- the first page should contain the authors names, affiliation, full post addresses, phones, faxes, e-mails and desired presentation (oral/poster).
- text body should contain (in this order): UDC, title, authors and affiliations, abstract of about 900 symbols, problem statement, objectives, narrative, conclusion and list of references; regardless of paper’s language it should have title, authors and abstracts in three languages: in Ukrainian, in Russian and in English
- authors from Ukraine should provide regular permission for publication.
Authors will be informed on acception/rejection before Feb. 10, 2008. Authors of accepted papers may be requested to submit improvements of their papers after reviewing by members of the Program Committee.

IMPORTANT DATES
December 31, 2007 - submission of papers
February 10, 2008 - notification of acceptance or rejection
March 10, 2008 - registration fee should be paid
May 1, 2008 - forming a programme and sending invitations
REGISTRATION FEE
The registration fee is of 350 UAH (about $70) and includes a copy of the Conference Proceedings, coffee breaks and organisational expenses. University students and Ph.D. students should pay registration fee of 100 UAH. Ukrainian participants should pay before March 10, 2008. Bank requisites for registration fee payment will be informed after February 10, 2008. Other participants will pay registration fee on arrival to the conference.
VENUE and SOCIAL EVENTS
Kiev is the capital of Ukraine and it is intellectual, economic and cultural centre of the country. UkrPROG'2008 conference will be held at the Cybernetics Centre of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine located in southern suburbs of Kiev near refreshment area of Golosiev forest and National Centre of Exhibitions. A 3-hour travel to National Museum of Folk Architecture located near the conference place will be proposed to participants in one of conference days.
ACCOMODATION
UkrPROG'2008 participants can have hotel near conference place.
